DIY Yogurt Face Masks to Try

Yogurt face masks are a great addition to your skincare routine. They have a vast amount of benefits that make it suitable for all skin types. However, they have a downside as animal milk yogurt may be an allergen to people who are allergic to it. Therefore, they can use plant-based yogurt like coconut milk yogurt instead.

You can use plain yogurt when preparing your mask, or you can combine it with other skin-friendly elements. Below we have highlighted different yogurt face masks for your skin type.

Home Spa Yogurt Face Masks For Oily and Acne-Prone Skin

Oily skin can be characterized by extra shine on the face, whiteheads, blackheads, and pimples. The yogurt face mask purpose is to eradicate acne and excess sebum from the skin.

Ingredients
  • A tablespoon honey
  • A tablespoon yogurt
  • A teaspoon turmeric powder
  • A teaspoon lemon juice
Process
  • Combine all the ingredients in a bowl until they all blend
  • Apply the mixture on the face and massage it for five minutes in circular motions
  • Leave it for 10-15 minutes on the face before rinsing the mask off with warm water
  • Apply moisturizer suited for oily skin after rinsing off the mask

For Dry Skin

One can characterize dry skin by cracks, flakes, and dehydration. This face mask recipe will help heal the effects of dry skin.

Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon mashed avocado
  • 2 tablespoons yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon honey
Process
  • Mix all the ingredients in a clean container
  • Apply the mixture on your face and massage it for three minutes
  • Leave it on your face for 10 minutes
  • Rinse your face and apply dry skin moisturizer on your face

For Dull and Tired Skin

The pollution in our environment makes our faces appear tired and dull. This specific face mask recipe will enhance the facial glow and replenish the skin.

Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 3 tablespoon yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
Process
  • Mix all the ingredients in a clean bowl until they are all uniform
  • Apply the paste on your face and massage it for approximately 3 minutes
  • Let it settle for approximately 15 minutes before rinsing it off with warm water
  • Apply argan oil after rinsing your face

To Exfoliate the Face

Yogurt is rich in lactic acid that is a gentle exfoliator. When combined with other ingredients it lifts off dead skin cells and gives room for new and replenished cells.

  • Do not use cow’s milk yogurt if you are allergic to it, but you can use plant-based yogurt
