They can enhance our mental states and nurture our physical bodies. The rise of social media has made affirmations popular. Every day as you scroll by Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or Whats App, you will come across uplifting and positive messages. Below we are providing in-depth explanations about the power of affirmations and how they work to nourish our lives.

What Are Positive Affirmations?

They are more than quotes to feel good; instead, they are statements that people repeat to uplift themselves. Words of affirmation help boost the brain chemicals responsible for encouragement and energy for the right action. However, for an affirmation statement to be successful, it must follow a very specific formula on how the user creates it. It turns out that our brains are straightforward with language rules.

  1. Positive affirmations should always be in the present tense since our brains only respond to present tense quotes and declarations. Move away quickly if you see statements such as ‘I will’ or ‘I used to’ etc. Instead, use ‘I am’.
  2. Affirmations have more power as truth and fact statements. Statements such as ‘am’, and ‘do’ are more powerful than ‘might’, and ‘could’.
  3. The right affirmation should only contain positive words. So avoid statements such as ‘cannot’, and ‘do not’.

How to Use Words of Affirmation

Your brain is like a supercomputer that is always sending and receiving instructions at lightning speed in the form of thoughts. We have to understand that everything begins in the mind before it reveals in the physical realm. 

Therefore, it all starts with a thought associated with the picture, sound, or color. Persistent awareness of a thought, in the long run, brings it into manifestation in the physical realm.  As such, the longer you think about something, the stronger the thought process becomes and you can begin to speak it loudly.

The result will be that you will put more energy into the thought and start manifesting it in the physical realm. Additionally, positive affirmations enable us to be energetic and take the necessary actions to fulfill our desires. Hence, you can use them to achieve anything. For instance, you can exercise more, create wealth, and attract positive relationships. The list is endless of what you can achieve with positive affirmations.
