Eyebrow threading is a beauty technique that originated from India, the Middle East, and China. The technique has provided people with a better alternative to waxing and plucking. It guarantees accurate removal of unwanted hair compared to the other techniques such as waxing, lasers or tweezing. Moreover, the technique does not involve the use of any chemicals; just cotton. Besides, threading ensures that the skin remains smooth for longer. The technique weakens the hair follicles thus causing growth to be less dense over time. Additionally, it is extremely affordable and less painful compared to waxing and other hair removal methods.
Below we have highlighted the step by step procedure to eyebrow threading.
Step 1: Ensure That You Have All the Tools
Before you start threading, ensure that you have all the necessary tools such as small scissors, loose powder, thick thread and a face astringent, preferably Neutrogena Clear Pore Astringent.
Step 2: Cut and Knot the Thread
Cut the thread to 40-50 cm in length and then tie a knot to join the two ends together.
Step 3: Create a Rectangular Shape and Make An X
Once the ends are together, stretch out the thread into a rectangle shape and make sure to insert your fingers with your nail pointing upwards. Then, with one hand, turn the thread over to make an X. Once you have made an X, spin it again. Discharge these circular movements with the dominant hand that will perform the threading.
Step 4: Put Loose Powder on the Eyebrow Region to be threaded
Loose powder provides one with the path that they will follow as they thread the hair.
Step 5: Identify the Hair You Want to Remove
Trace the hair you would want to eliminate and thread in the opposite direction that your hair grows such as in the picture above.
Step 6: Trim Your Hair with Scissors
Complete the threading by trimming your eyebrows with small scissors to achieve the shape you want.
