This eco active wear maintains a high level of environmental and social responsibility to promote our earth positively, both on land and in the oceans.
Spiritgirl attires are made of high-quality recycled PET (polyethylene terephthalate) which are woven with spandex to create a coolmax performance fabric. This coolmax fabric results in the ultimate workout pants that are breathable, comfortable, moisture wicking and quick drying. Spiritgirl active wear strives to be a conscious producer for conscious consumers.
Spiritgirl Eco Impact
Spiritgirl boasts sustainable processes and designs. They make the fabric they use from recycled PET plastic bottles and recycled fishing nets. Currently, they are introducing non-printed sustainable techno-fabric, made of an econyl or regenerated nylon. Econyl boasts excellent recovery power and perfect muscular compression aimed at decreasing the production of lactic acid, thus boosting a faster recovery of energy. This sustainable techno-fabric is soft and pleasant on the skin, compact and breathable, and it is also highly UV protective. Spiritgirl uses biodegradable packaging and mailing bags. They use mielie mailer shipping bags to courier their products. These bags are made from PLA which is derived from spoiled mielies, PBAT and cornstarch, and are internationally certified as home compostable and also carbon neutral. Spiritgirl eco efforts are having a positive impact on the world. First, it is reducing landfill that would have been caused by the plastic bottles and the fish nets. Secondly, it is reducing the demand for dyes and fixing agents. Thirdly, it is reducing the demand on oil, as every 1 ton of recycled PET yarn saves 6 tons of oil. Finally, it is resulting in less pollution and energy savings more than 80% than virgin products.
