Kadjoe draws motivation from the African heritage, the love of self-expression and empowerment. Kadjoe Design is all about slow fashion because its pieces can truly be treasured and remain authentic over a long period. Kadjoe wants women to feel like they are included in the designs when it comes to dressing their bodies. This is reflected by the amount of time spent on the creation of clothing that fit perfectly, flatter body’s shape and make these queens feel confident when wearing them.Moreover, each piece is created for women with the intention of making them feel beautiful, elegant, sexy and powerful simultaneously. Kadjoe is on the forefront of promoting self-worth and allowing women to be bold in every way they can while wearing their pieces.
The founder of the brand, Stephanie Aevouelie was born in Ivory Coast, West Africa and raised between the Ivory Coast and France. Stephanie was passionate about fashion from a very young age; she would make fancy clothes using everyday items such as cotton sheets, towels and mosquito nets. She designs all her pieces herself and has them produced in Ivory Coast. The African based production is important to her to create jobs in her country where the poverty rate is high. Her diverse cultural background that was influenced by living on different continents throughout her life has contributed to her versatile sense of fashion. She graduated with a Masters Degree in Economics and Finance at the Toulouse School of Economics in France in 2008. In 2009, she moved to the United States to become more fluent in English and later earned her masters from LaSalle University. She is diverse, and so is Kadjoe Design.
