Green Smoothie for Healthy Skin and Hair

If you are not a fan of eating veggies, you can have a green smoothie for healthy skin and hair. Fortunately, good green smoothies contain nutrients including iron, vitamin C, proteins, niacin, zinc, and biotin, which promote healthy skin and hair growth. Avocado

Avocados contain powerful antioxidants which lower the risks of one contracting infections. Its smoothies are very creamy and filling, especially frozen ones. The nutrients in the avocado are excellent at moisturizing and nourishing the skin and scalp, and promote long, healthy, and strong hair. Therefore, below is an avocado recipe that you can try to make at home.

Ingredients

  1. 1 ripe avocado cut into ice cube sizes.
  2. 1 cup of milk.
  3. ½ cup of vanilla yogurt.
  4. 7 ice cubes.
  5. 3 tablespoons honey.

Instructions

  1. Combine the avocado, honey, milk, yogurt, and ice cubes in a blender.
  2. Blend for about 5 minutes until the mixture is smooth.
  3. Serve into a glass.

Kale

Kales are rich in calcium, fibre, antioxidants, Vitamin K, and vitamin C. Moreover, it is a great detoxifier and reduces inflammation and wrinkles.

Ingredients

  1. 1 and 1/4 cups (300ml) Soy Milk.
  2. 2 cups filled with kales.
  3. 2 frozen bananas.
  4. 4 pitted dates.
  5. 1 teaspoon grated ginger.
  6. A cup of ice cubes.
  7. A tablespoon lime juice.
  8. 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon.
  9. 1/2 cup Cashews or groundnuts.

Directions

  1. Put the soy milk in your blender jug then add frozen bananas, cashews, kale, dates, minced ginger, fresh lime juice, cinnamon, and ice cubes.
  1. Blend until it is very smooth.
  2. Serve into a glass.

Carrots

Carrots help in slowing down aging effects and activates sebum production which conditions the scalp and prevents hair loss. Additionally, vitamin C helps in the production of collagen protein which develops the skin structure.

Ingredients

  1. ¾ orange juices.
  2. 1 cup of ice cubes.
  3. ½ cup carrot sliced.
  4. 1 teaspoon grated ginger.

Instructions

  1. Add all the ingredients into the blender jug and blend for about 5 minutes until the mixture is smooth.

Spinach

Spinach is beneficial in promoting clear and glowing skin as it contains Vitamin A which activates the secretion of sebum, therefore, moisturizes the scalp.

  1. 1 cup of water.
  2. 1 cup of fresh spinach.
  3. Cup mango.
  4. Cup pineapple.

Instructions

  1. Tightly pack spinach in a measuring cup.
  2. Add water and spinach to the blender then blend till all chunks are over.
  3. Add avocado, pineapple, and mango to the blender, preferably use frozen ones.
  4. Blend all together for a minute or two depending on your blenders speed till it becomes creamy and smooth.
  5. Pour into a glass and serve instantly.
  6. You can also store the smoothie in the fridge.

Cucumber

Cucumber has anti-inflammatory properties that purify and rejuvenates the skin. It is also a great hydrant and detoxifier as it removes toxins from the body through the skin, thus making it glow.

Ingredients

  1. 1 cucumber
  2. A cup of parsley
  3. 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  4. A teaspoon minced ginger
  5. 1 cup spinach
  6. A orange
  7. 2 thinly chopped carrots
  8. 1 cup of ice cubes
  9. 1 cup of water

Instructions

  1. Add all the ingredients into the jug of the blender.
  2. Blend the mixture for approximately 7 minutes until it becomes smooth.
  3. Serve immediately or put it in the freezer.

Apple

  1. 1 apple peeled and cored.
  2. ½ cup of milk.
