Different Types of Rice Water For Natural Healthy Hair

Southeast Asia and Japanese women were the first to use different types of rice water to enhance the beauty of their hair. The concept has become famous beyond Asia and people are now utilizing it globally. The rice water is rich in amino acids which aid the restoration and promotion of faster hair growth. Additionally, the water is also enriched with vitamins B, C, and E, which further help to make hair smooth and improve its appearance. Below we have highlighted the different types of rice water and how to make them at home.

Soaked Rice Water

Preparation

  1. Use one cup of raw rice.
  2. Clean it well.
  3. Add 2 glasses of water.
  4. Leave it for 45 minutes.
  5. Filter the rice from the water into a clean bowl.
  6. Spray the rice water into clean hair and leave it for 30 minutes.
  7. Rinse of your hair.

Boiled Rice Water

Preparation

  1. Take ½ cup of rice.
  2. Double the water for cooking, use 1 cup.
  3. Cook the rice in boiling water.
  4. strain the rice water into a clean bowl before use.
  5. Allow it to cool, then spray it into clean hair.
  6. Leave it for 20 -30 minutes.
  7. Rinse your hair with clean cool water.

Fermented Rice Water

Preparation

  1. Use two cups of rice.
  2. Add four cups of water to it.
  3. Leave it to soak for 30 minutes.
  4. Strain the rice water into a clean bottle and leave it in a dark place for 2 days.
  5. When the sour smell is felt, it is ready to use.

Note: Fermentation lowers the pH of the rice water which nourishes the hair and the scalp better.

You can also use rice water as a conditioner by applying it to wet hair, then massaging it into the scalp for 7 minutes. For additional nutrition, you can combine it with a few drops of rosehip essential oil.
