Cameron Saul and Oliver Wayman are the founders of Bottletop, a British luxury fashion brand that seeks to empower people and the planet through sustainable design and creative culture. Interestingly, the designers began making handbags made from upcycled bottle tops in Kenya. Indeed, through a collaboration with Mulberry, these sustainable handbags became international bestsellers. Therefore, the brand supported artisans and funded health and education for the young people in Africa.

Additionally, the brand has its atelier and training programs in Brazil and Nepal. Indeed, bottletop’s leather supply chain has a Zero Deforestation impact. The designers’ source the leather hides from sustainable farms.

Bottletop uses Upcycled Ringpulls

Additionally, bottletop bags incorporate upcycled metal ring pulls in their design. For instance, they use the ringpulls to create their signature chain mail fabric. Moreover, they have a signature, Mistura braiding technique, that blends upcycled metal with Zero Deforestation Amazon leather in a unique and complex weave.

Bottletop Creates More Decent Jobs

Furthermore, bottletop trains local artisans with new skills and crafts which they use to make their bags in their small atelier in Brazil. Apart from working in conducive environments, their workers earn 45% more than the Brazilian industry average.

The Edition collection is Bottle top’s luxe range and it includes their Dani leather backpacks. Such styles of designs rely on techniques such as Bottletop’s signature, Mistura braiding. Specifically, this beautiful finish takes the artisans more time to make because of the complexity of the technique.

Together Brand Editions for Peace Collection

Indeed, together band edition for peace collection shares the United Nation’s 17 Global Goals through creativity and culture. Interestingly, 100% of profits from the sales of this collection go to charities that advance the Sustainable Development Goals. 

Together Brand Collection is handmade at Bottletop’s atelier in Nepal by a collective of women who government agencies have rescued from human trafficking. The designers make the bags in this collection using Humanium Metal and 100% Parley Ocean Plastic.
