African Fashion International 2020
The founders of the African Fashion International initiated the event in order to promote domestic brands on the international platform. Moreover, their intent was to redefine, restore and give voice to the African designers on a global scale. The rich African heritage has propelled craftsmanship towards the production of high-quality luxury African fashion. The event is currently at the forefront of presenting African talents on a world-class level. The organizers divide the event into two unparalleled fashion showcases namely, AFI Cape Town Fashion Week and AFI Johannesburg Fashion Week.
Moreover, African Fashion International has a wing called Fastrack which identifies and invests in the best young designers in the continent. It also provides talented youth the opportunity to experience and engage in mentorship, media exposure and business expertise. All these skills are important as it would help them to navigate the fashion landscape. AFI has emerged as a creative hub for millennials to interact and exchange ideas on fashion and the brands they prefer. It has also promoted the spirit of entrepreneurialism amongst the youth in the fashion industry. It offers them a stage to display their creativity, and thus, help new designers, musicians and artists. This season, the AFI Cape Town Fashion Week will take place from 12th to 14th of March 2020 in the Cape Town International Convention Center.
Designer Application
In order to present your collection at The African Fashion International Cape Town Fashion Week 2020, you will need to register and purchase your own designer showcase package! All designers wishing to showcase at the event must commence the process by completing this online registration form. Additionally, media personnel can use the same link.
Young Designers Application – Fastrack
African Fashion International Fastrack is a special category that prepares and mentors young African designers. This class recognizes and capitalizes on the best young designers on the continent. Moreover, it provides business incubation and promotes market exposure. Therefore, any young designer who would want to participate in this category can register online.
