ACNE AGAIN!!!

Anyone struggling with acne knows how uncomfortable an issue it can be. Some attribute their acne to oily skin, food allergies, or say it’s hereditary. But none of these qualify. Sometimes, all your body needs is the right nutritional balance and proper skin care.

According to Dermatologists, there are a few different types of pimples:

  •  Whiteheads and blackheads. The difference being their color and whether the pore is still open or has closed over.
  • Papules, the hard blocked pores
  • Pustules, the big pus-filled zits that most people would think of as acne
  • Cysts, the deepest of blocked pores that don’t really have a head

To help heal your acne, here are a few pointers:
• Scale back on your prescriptions for acne. On days you are not medication, use gentle cleansers and moisturizers for your skin type. It will help balance the skin.
• Use an exfoliating mask. If yours is in between moderate to severe acne, do not use any facial scrub. Instead, use an exfoliating mask that doesn’t abrade the skin as it sloughs dead skin cells and helps purge pores.
• Eat more carrots. Vitamin A strengthens the protective tissue of the skin and actually prevents acne.
• Limit your dairy intake.
• Don’t touch the face or pick. Sometimes you may not even realize they’re doing it.
• Add turmeric to your diet.
• Cut out sugar. Fruit is okay, but try to stick to melons and berries.
• Exercise! Sweat detoxifies the skin.
• Consider nutritional supplements. Acne can be a sign that something is nutritionally off in your diet. Your skin depends on nutrition, and if your body isn’t receiving it, acne can result.
• Clean up! Wipe your cell phone, glasses, sunglasses, keyboards etc.
